Budget First, Spend Later
Before you even think about making your shopping list, plan out your budget. Take a look at your finances and decide how much you’re comfortable with spending. Then you can go from there and make up your shopping list based on your budget, rather than trying to find the money to afford everything on an unrealistic wish list.
Put Away Your Credit Cards
It’s easy to overspend when you rely on your credit cards. Do your future self a favor by keeping the credit cards out of the holiday shopping game if at all possible. Instead, pay in cash. This will keep you aware of what you’re spending and help you stay in budget.
If sending holiday cards is part of your tradition, consider sending E-cards instead this year. You’ll save a significant amount of money on cards and stamps but can still send a memorable, warm greeting to family and friends.
If you need a new vehicle to lug around all of those gifts, or you want to treat yourself for the holiday season, stop by Lee’s Summit Honda today.
The 2018 Honda Accord brings unprecedented style and athleticism to the mid-size sedan segment. Designed to stand out from the crowd, the new Honda Accord features a turbocharged engine, improved fuel economy, and more safety features. All of that and more has led to the Japanese automaker making a $267 million investment in its Ohio production facilities.
The $267 million investment will bring 300 new jobs and increase total production capacity at the Marysville, Ohio facility. That plant will receive the majority of the investment, $220 million, while the Anna, Ohio engine plant will see $47 million.
The Marysville location will have $165 million going to the construction of a new welding department that will house 342 new welding robots. The massive investment will increase total production capacity to 440,000 vehicles per year with the possibility of adding more volume to accommodate high 2018 Accord sales.
While Honda executives aren’t giving exact sales projections, they’re expecting sales increases thanks to the Honda Accord’s new design.
The Anna, Ohio engine plant will use the $47 million for retooling. That facility will build the Accord’s new turbocharged engine.
We here at Lee’s Summit Honda are proud to see Honda continuing to invest in American facilities!
The Honda S2000 CR was a special trim level of the popular roadster. It saw a limited run for the 2008 and 2009 model years before the model was discontinued altogether. While production was limited, it never reached the expected amount. As a result, only 699 examples of the Honda S2000 CR are available, and one of them recently went up for auction.
The Honda S2000 CR drew attention from enthusiasts around the country when it went up on Bring a Trailer. The model is currently in located in New Jersey and has had four owners, according to the vehicle history report. At nearly 10 years old, it has 89,000 miles on the odometer.
The rare roadster comes stocked with a 2.2-liter F22C four-cylinder engine that delivers 237 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. Inside, the roadster features Alcantara and cloth seats instead of the standard leather seating.
Perhaps most interesting is the paintjob. Of the 699 S2000 CRs produced, only 200 bore the Apex Blue Pearl color.
The 2008 Honda S2000 CR ended up topping the $15,000 mark, further proving that demand is still high for the limited-production roadster.
We here at Lee’s Summit Honda are proud to see Honda vehicles proving their longevity on the roadways.
As engine technology improves, cars can do a lot more with a lot less. That is why the 10th generation Honda Accord is saying goodbye to the V6 engine in favor of a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. While some shoppers may be disappointed in this change, all indications show that this will be a thrilling update.
The base engine, though, will be a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder, which is the same engine found in the Civic and CR-V. It will be paired with a continuously variable transmission.
As for the 2.0T engine, it could very well be the most powerful one in its class. In addition, this engine will come standard with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Buyers can also opt for a six-speed manual with either engine.
Along with a new engine lineup, the 2018 Accord will have sleek new styling. While the official design hasn’t been released, we have seen quite a few spy photos of camouflaged prototypes out on the road for testing. Based on the details we can see, the Accord will have more dynamic styling that will help it stand out more from the crowd.
