Automation has come a long way in recent years and in many ways, it has made jobs safer, increased production, and helped create things that otherwise wouldn’t exist. Now Honda is stepping up its technology game with something that will likely see mixed reactions from home owners. Meet Miimo, the first robotic lawn mower available in the United States.
That’s right; Honda really went there. Not only has the Japanese brand brought a speedy Civic with high fuel economy, but now they’re making home ownership a little easier as well. Where does it end?
Miimo is available in two models and will be available at Honda dealerships this summer. The robotic lawn mower operates in a similar fashion to a Roomba vacuum. Miimo features three mowing settings: Random, for large lawns, Directional, for smaller lawns, and Mixed, for lawns in between.
As though that isn’t efficient enough, Miimo is also self-charging, and will return to the docking station when it needs to be charged. Plus, it only takes around an hour to reach a full charge.
“For customers who want to be on the cutting edge of technology, have busy lifestyles and don’t have the time for lawn care, or for customers who don’t enjoy cutting the grass, Miimo is the high-tech approach to achieving a beautiful yard,” said Michael Rudolph, Vice President of Honda Power Equipment.
We here at Lee’s Summit Honda can’t help but be a little excited about Honda’s new robotic lawn mower.
